Using specially chosen products, our skilled team will make sure your pet leaves our spa looking fabulous and (just as importantly) feeling happy, too! We welcome dogs of all breeds and sizes. We do understand that grooming can be a stressful experience for some animals; with this in mind, you’ll find Syd’s is a calm, comfortable and friendly environment, where our experienced staff offer professional care with a personal touch (rest assured that we absolutely love dogs!). Our services include everything from puppy pamper sessions to more specialised treatments, like hand stripping, plus a range of grooming extras which can be tailored to suit your dog’s needs.
About Greendale Farm Shop
You’ll find Syd’s Doghouse & Spa at the award-winning Greendale Farm Shop on the Sidmouth Road, just outside Exeter. Handily, this means you can come and leave your dog with us, then pop into the Farm Shop or café and relax until it’s time to pick up your pooch.
Greendale Farm Shop is a great place to visit. With plenty of free parking, you’ll find our award-winning shop is packed with delicious local produce, and we also offer a cosy café, a fish & chip takeaway and even a drive-thru for snacks and coffees on the go. Families can enjoy our free Farm Trail and Tractor Trail all year round, and we’ve always been a dog-friendly venue (we love hosting our annual Summer Dog Show!), with well-behaved dogs on leads welcome to walk through our shop and sit with their owners in the café.
Meet Kaz
Karen 'Kaz' Horn is our in-house expert canine beautician here at Syd’s. Karen trained at the London Academy of Grooming, and has extensive experience of grooming dogs across different breeds and temperaments. Calm, kind and very capable, she’s always happy to meet new four-legged friends and answer any questions you might have about keeping your dog looking its very best!
Meet Syd
This handsome chap is Syd, a much-loved family pet and working dog belonging to Mat, the owner of Greendale Farm Shop. Syd (full name Sydenham) was named after Mat’s grandfather, Frank William Sydenham Carter, the founder of family business FWS Carter.
Being a Labrador, it goes without saying that Syd doesn’t let this illustrious history go to his head – super-laid back, obsessed with his frisbee and at his happiest in the middle of a deep, muddy puddle, he's likely to be popping in to ‘his’ spa on a pretty regular basis!
